Kirsten Simone Vangsness, an American writer and actress who became famous by playing "Penelope Garcia" on the crime procedural police drama television series 'Criminal Minds'. The actress has also been featured in its two spin-off shows "Criminal minds: Suspect Behavior' and 'Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.' Kirsten Vangsness has appeared in several other television series also. She is mostly a television actress, however she's had a few minor film roles since her showbiz debut in 1998. Her roles have been notable in films like 'In My Sleep, The Chicago 8", and 'Kill Me, Deadly.' Her writings have appeared on the Los Angeles Times. As well as a playwright she wrote 3 episodes of Criminal Minds. She helps rescue, rehab and adopts abandoned and injured animals.
